Hotels in Bornholm

Bornholm is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea. It enjoys a wonderful location in a triangle formed by three countries – to the east of Denmark, south of Sweden and north of Poland. There are no major activities in there and those traveling to this island should be mostly people looking for some serene time. So it could be a perfect destination for elderly people and those traveling with their children.

Thus, if you want to travel to this island, here are a few hotels to consider. Note that the hotels are quite modest and what they mostly offer is a corner of tranquility.

Hotel Skovly – Hotel Skovly is a two-star hotel offering single rooms, double rooms and apartments. The rooms are equipped with a single bed, chair, table, bookcase, flat screen, refrigerator, wardrobe, bathroom and so on. Notably all the guests of the hotel have an access to a shared terrace with BBQ for common use.

The hotel enjoys a low season and high season. The high season starts in June 1 and lasts until August 31. The lowest room comes at around EUR 90 per night. And the price includes breakfast. The breakfast usually includes coffee and tea, soft boiled eggs, cheese, fruit, juice, milk, yoghurt, oatmeal and so on.

Hotel Balka Strand – Hotel Balka Strand is located in a quiet area and is suitable for everyone. The rooms have their own terrace and all guests are welcome to visit the heated outdoor pool. The pool is open from May to September. The entire hotel is non-smoking. If you are traveling with your pet or even pets, then you should know that it belongs to the pet-friendly hotels in Denmark.

All the rooms in the hotel have a twinbed, a wardrobe, bathroom with shower and toilet, hairdryer, iron and board, minibar, free Wi-Fi, telephone and TV. Note that the rooms are not located within a single building but in several buildings.

The hotel has a restaurant where you can try Danish foods. Other than that the hotel offers a lovely garden, chess, swimming pool, playground, indoor and outdoor games, mini golf and so on. Also, the hotel offers bike rental which is the main means of transportation in not only Denmark but all developed European countries. If you are traveling by car or have rented a car, then you should know that the hotel has a parking lot. Interestingly, the hotel also has bus parking.

Hotel Gudhjem – Hotel Gudhjem is another modest hotel which can be a good choice for people on business trip, vacations and particularly, golfers. This hotel mainly offers double rooms and apartments. The apartments can be rented for a week or at least three or four days.

The apartments come with a lounge with kitchenette, refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, toilet and shower. The apartments include two bedrooms with four beds. An extra bed is also available upon request.

Note that the double rooms include breakfast but the apartments don’t. The check-in starts at 12 pm and the check-out – at 10 am. The prices start at around EUR 94 per night.

Hotel Abildgaard

Hotel Abildgaard – Hotel Abildgaard is best for a family visit. The hotel comes with double rooms and family rooms. The double rooms are located in five buildings and have an entrance area, mini kitchen, sleeping area with a desk, sofa, chair, satellite TV and bathrooms with a shower. If you are traveling alone than you might book the double room as a single room. But you will have to pay extra fee.

The hotel’s family rooms also include the same facilities as the double rooms.

You can book both types of rooms with either breakfast or all inclusive. The all-inclusive option includes coffee, tea or juice at the café, an evening buffet served from 6 pm to 9 pm and drinks. The lowest price starts at around EUR 110 per night.
