Hotels in Aarhus

Aarhus

Being the second biggest city in Denmark, Aarhus continues the tradition of royal themes. There are some cheap and affordable hotels, but if you want a good quality, be ready to spend loads and loads on the hotel.

As in any other Danish city, here too, each hotel is located close to several tourist destinations. Some are directly in the citycenter, having their guests in the middle of busy Aarhus life.

Some of the best hotels in Aarhus are Scandic Hotel, Helnan Marselis Hotel, Hotel Faber, Radisson Blu and Hotel Royal.

Scandic Hotel in Aarhus is probably the newest one in the city. It has opened only recently, in June 2012. The exterior design itself is worth admiring.

The building is designed with exceptional architectural taste, and it’s not all yet. The interior is equally beautiful.

If you want to enjoy the view to the city, ask for one of the rooms with a balcony. There is definitely something to see either in mornings or evenings. Visitors can enjoy the fitness center free of charge. There is a separate fee for parking. Children under the age of 12 can stay with their parents free, however, no additional beds are provided.

The hotel features a real European interior design, with comfortable and eye-pleasing colors. Overall, there are 228 rooms: Standard, Superior and Family. Special allergy-free rooms and accessibility features are available.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

There is a small indoor pool along with sauna, solarium and gym. If you are lucky and the weather is warm enough, you can as well make use of the beach that lies right in front of the building.

All 160 rooms, which are Single and Double, have balconies which open the view to the Aarhus Bay. The atmosphere is not completely royal, but the level of luxury is satisfying.

As the hotel is right next to water, seafood is always included in the main menu.

Helnan Marselis Hotel is a pet-friendly hotel, though you might be charged a small fee.

Hotel Faber

Hotel Faber, this is where elegance hides. It’s one of the new hotels in the city, and is not royalty-style, overly luxurious or too affordable. Both exterior and interior designs are simple but tasteful and extremely pleasant.

You can book one of the three main room types: Twin, Studio and Apartment, all with or without balconies.

There is probably no need to say that a room with balcony is much better than that without one.

Nights are especially beautiful in Aarhus, and you don’t want to miss the scene of the sea and starry sky.

Visitors are kindly asked to check in and check out using automated machines. Most of the times there are no receptionists and everything is automated. Accessibility features are provided.

Hotel Royal

If you were looking for a palace, well, you have found it. Hotel Royal, as the name itself suggests, is a very good example how a real royal vacation should be.

It’s not only about services the hotel provides, but also the building itself. Its architecture is so magnificent, it has almost become another tourist attraction. The location is perfect, right in the center of the city, close to key places of interest.

The hotel is not a new one, it was established in 1838, but has been restored and renovated a number of times, uniting historical traditions with modern style. The interior decoration will cause admiration, as around 300 original pieces of art are placed in one place, Hotel Royal.

Everything here is a monument itself, starting from the extraordinary reception desk with an in-built aquarium, and ending with the windows and the antique elevator.

The hotel has its own casino and nightclub. Visitors can also enjoy the sauna and solarium.

Rooms are Standard and there are different types of Suites. Rooms are furnished in deep colors. Although your wallet might not like the idea of staying at this hotel, where else will you have the chance to be treated as a queen or a king?

Interestingly, in addition to all this head-turning luxury, there is no parking capability around the hotel.
